MLB Analytics Betting Edges – June 12/2019
(see a recap of the previous blog at the bottom of this post)
1. Chicago Cubs @ Colorado Rockies
Rockies Starter Antonio Senzatela has gone 6-2 over the past 2 seasons while pitching against tired teams (7+ games in 1o days), which Chicago is today. Meanwhile Cubs starter Cole Hamels is carrying a 4.0 xFIP vs a 3.24 ERA meaning he’s benefiting from some good fortune, which is unlikely – though not impossible – to hold out over the course of a season, while also suffering from the 2nd highest BB/9 rate of his career at 3.36 (league average is just under 3).
With that said, early line-movement on the full-game is favoring the Cubs, with Colorado having gone from a +115 to +130 underdog in the first few hours, so definitely something to monitor ahead of the opening pitch.
EDGE: (at this time) Rockies F5
WNBA Analytics Betting Edges
2. Minnesota Lynx @ New York Liberty
When the Minnesota Lynx have been the visitor team over the past two seasons, the Under has gone 15-4 for 56% ROI, including 1-0 when playing in New York.
EDGE: Under and under again if the line jumps up 10+ points in the first couple of minutes.
NHL Analytics Betting Edges
3. St Louis Blues @ Boston Bruins
Well, the NHL has officially kicked my butt in this first year of playoff-betting, but we might as well go out swinging!
Since 2006 returning playoff favorites with a regular-season margin of victory above 0.3 are 50-19 in the Stanley Cup finals, good for 23% ROI.
EDGE: Bruins ML
